Brett Brackett Placed on Injured Reserve

September 4th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

It’s been quite the whirlwind week for Brett Brackett. Now, it’s coming to an end in one of the worst ways possible.

The 24-year-old college-wide-receiver-turned-pro-tight-end was placed on injured reserve earlier today by the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a knee injury. Brackett sustained the injury during his first practice with Jacksonville on Monday.

If you think your week’s been busy, here’s a short timeline of the past few days for Brackett:

  • Thursday (8/30) – Catches 2nd touchdown of preseason for Eagles in their final tuneup
  • Friday (8/31) – Released from Eagles as they form 53-man roster
  • Saturday (9/1) – Claimed off of waivers by Jaguars for his second stint with the team
  • Monday (9/3) – Injured knee in first practice with Jags
  • Tuesday (9/4) – Placed on injured reserve, season over

The details of the knee injury have not been revealed yet, as most sources just state it’s a knee injury. A few reports from Jacksonville practice reveal that the injury was quickly assumed to be serious.

As soon as I find out those details, I’ll update this post.

Until then, send your well wishes to Brett and hope for a quick recovery for such a young NFL talent.
